Molybdenum diilicide
This is an inorganic solid with the chemical name MoSi2. Molybdenum is disilicide, which is insoluble with most acids. However, it can be dissolved in nitric and hydrofluoric acids.
Molybdenum Disilicide exhibits good high-temperature resistance to oxidation, and its oxidation resisting temperature can reach 1600°C.
Molybdenum Disilicide is conductive. At high temperatures, it can form an insulating layer of silicon dioxide to stop further oxidation. MoSi2 can be used to heat in an oxidizing environment at high temperatures (1700degC).
