About Cobalt Co Powder:
Cobalt has excellent physical, chemical and mechanical properties, and is an important material in the manufacture of high strength alloys, high-temperature resistant alloys, hard alloys, magnetic materials and catalysts. Cobalt powder is one of the main raw materials of cemented carbide, and the demand at home and abroad increases year by year. With the development of cemented carbide industry, cobalt powder used in cemented carbide has three development trends: ultrafine cobalt powder, nano WC-Co powder and spherical cobalt powder. Is Cobalt harmful to humans? Cobalt can harm the eyes, skin, heart, and lungs. Exposure to cobalt may cause cancer. Workers may be harmed from exposure to cobalt and cobalt-containing products. The level of harm depends upon the dose, duration, and work being done. This is more and more strict for the quality of cobalt powder, not only for the chemical composition of cobalt powder put forward higher requirements but also for the physical properties of cobalt powder such as particle size, particle size distribution, crystal morphology and so on. The decrease of cobalt powder particle size can significantly reduce the ball milling time and sintering temperature of the cemented carbide powder mixture, enhance the flexural strength, wear resistance and fracture resistance of cemented carbide, and reduce the occurrence of cobalt pool and pore.
Cobalt powder is used as a bonding component in cemented carbide, so it is required to have good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, otherwise cemented carbide is prone to corrosion, crack and other defects. Why is cobalt so expensive? Political instability has historically affected cobalt prices. Nanometer is a trusted global Cobalt powder supplier. Feel free to send an inquiry about the latest price of Cobalt powder at any time. Current battery technology requires cobalt as part of the cathode. Demand for cobalt continues to grow, given the growing popularity of electric cars. Recent trends suggest that demand will outstrip supply, leading to higher prices.
Cobalt Co Powder CAS 7440-48-4 Features:
Cobalt powder nanoparticle is a kind of spherical metal nanoparticle produced through laser evaporation. Cobalt powder is not an abundant element but is widely diffused in rocks, sea and mineral waters, coal, meteorites, the sun and stellar atmospheres, soils, plants and animals.
Cobalt powder Specification:
Item | Purity | APS | Color | Bulk Density | Morphology | SSA |
Cobalt nanoparticle | 99.5% | 20-80nm | Black | 1.3g/cm3 | Sphere | 40-60m2/g |
How is Cobalt Co Powder produced?
The preparation method of cobalt powder is as follows:
Step 1: The soluble cobalt salt and ammonium bicarbonate are injected into the base solution of ammonium bicarbonate by concurrent flow, and the slurry with cobalt carbonate crystal seed is obtained by stirring reaction.
Step 2: Continue to add cobalt salt and ammonium bicarbonate into the slurry of cobalt carbonate crystal seed, react, and then control the pH value to get cobalt carbonate crystal, and then dry the cobalt carbonate crystal to get cobalt carbonate powder;
Step 3, cobalt carbonate powder is reduced in a hydrogen atmosphere to obtain cobalt powder.
Applications of Cobalt Co Powder:
Cobalt is an important ferrous metal, because of its good physical, chemical and mechanical properties, with high catalytic activity, high saturation magnetization, good oxidation resistance and other advantages, so what is cobalt powder used for? Cobalt is widely used in hard alloy, aviation, catalysis, magnetic materials, medicine and new materials, and other fields, it is used for hard alloy material (such as cemented carbide and artificial diamond tools) one of the key raw materials, its performance determines the bonding performance of hard alloy material, strength and toughness, the using performance of hard alloy material is of crucial importance.
In addition, cobalt is one of the few metals that can remain magnetic after magnetization, magnetic steel containing 60% cobalt has 2.5 times higher coercion force than ordinary magnetic steel, and the magnetic loss of cobalt steel is very little under vibration.
Cobalt and cobalt alloy powders are used in the powder metallurgy (PM) industry, mainly in the production of permanent magnets, high-temperature alloys (high temperature and creep resistant alloys) and wear-resistant surfacing alloys. Cobalt is used in electroplating for its attractive appearance, hardness and resistance to oxidation. Cobalt can also be used as a base coating for porcelain enamels.
Cobalt Co Powder Cautions:
1. Cobalt powder has flammable hazards, so it should be gently placed and to avoid violent vibration and friction.
2. Metal nano cobalt powder should be prevented from moisture, heat, impact and sunlight.
3 . The user must be a professional (This person must know how to use this product.)
Storage Condition of Cobalt Co Powder:
The damp reunion will affect Co powder dispersion performance and using effects, therefore, Cobalt Co Powder should be sealed in vacuum packing and stored in cool and dry room, the Cobalt Co Powder can not be exposure to air. In addition, the Co powder should be avoided under stress.
Packing & Shipping of Cobalt Co Powder:
We have many different kinds of packing which depend on the Cobalt Co powder quantity.
Cobalt Co powder packing:vacuum packing, 100g, 500g or 1kg/bag, 25kg/barrel, or as your request.
Cobalt Co powder shipping: could be shipped out by sea, by air, by express, as soon as possible once payment receipt.
